James Howard Ennis
born Feb 25, 1873 in Baldwin County, died
July 14, 1953,
was the son of William Charles Ennis, and
grandson of Pleasant Ennis.
He was a Georgia State Representative.
He has a building at Georgia College
& State University named after him.

"J. H. Ennis married Miss Tommie Harper of Hancock County, and settled
in
Milledgeville. He was captain of the Baldwin Blues until the spectacular
hunt of the U. S. for Villa on Mexican soil. He was Serving Baldwin
County in the Legislature at the same time and had to give up his
captaincy. He has served Baldwin a number of terms as representative
and
one term in the state senate. He is now serving Baldwin in the
legilature and Milledgeville as Mayor. He is a prosperous farmer,
merchant and saw-mill man. There was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Ennis,
one son, H. B. Ennis."
